Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania (2018)

“You are not in the mountains. The mountains are in you.”
-John Muir

On 8 February 2018 at 6:06AM I officially reached Uhuru Peak, the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Africa’s highest peak at 4,895 meters, or 19,341 feet.

I summited using Kessy Brothers guiding company out of Moshi, Tanzania. My guide and crew were awesome! It was an incredible experience, and I am excited to enter the world of mountaineering. By most criteria, this was my first of the Seven Summits, but I did see the tops of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa in 2017.
